About NoStress Connect

NoStress Connect is web installer for Magento's updates so called modules or products. NoStress Connect provides the possibility to install a module without copying the source files onto server as necessity. NoStress Connect is built-up on PEAR packages manager (pear.php.net) which provides right installation, actualization and deletion of any package in your Magento e-shop.

NoStress Connect provides:

• installation of classical PEAR packages.
• installation of free NoStress modules and products
• installation of licensed NoStress modules and products

NoStress Connect is ready also for updates and support for Magento from other, NoStress Commerce independent companies. Update must only be suitable to "PEAR standard" described on PEAR Developer Guide

Reason for NoStress Connect

Copying files directly onto your server is not always the best way how to update the system. The reasons are following:

• you can simply overwrite existing code and damage the application
• actualization and maintenance of existing code is difficult and after some time, nobody knows what is and what is not the part of modules
• deletion of files made that way is often risky and usually must be then followed by renewal of the whole application from resources

All these problems are thanks to NoStress Connect avoided.

How to install NoStress Connect?

In the case of installation through Magento Connect is necessary to achieve the steps following:

• Open your Magento Downloader in your internet browser (e.g. www.magentostore.cz/downloader/index.php) and log in as an administrator.
• Insert the chain magento-community/nostress_connect into field extension key and click the button Install. Then installation of NoStress Connect proceeds.

What is the NoStress product licence

The strategy chosen for wholesale customers is One Magento installation – one licence. To understand it clearly, for each installation of Magento used by Customer, one licence for product used is needed. License underlies to domain running Magento. Nevertheless the licence doesn’t limit providing the e-shop on more domains. Only for successful installation of product through NoStress Connect, start up Magento from that domain address is needed. However licence has no period limits.

Let’s have a simple example: Customer has an e-shop (multi-store) on domains www.nostress-obchod.cz and www.magento-obchod.cz. Log in to backend is made from www.nostress-obchod.cz/admin. Then domain for licence is www.nostress-obchod.cz and NoStress Connect is available on www.nostress-obchod.cz/nostressconnect/index.php.

Product installation

Product installation is possible immediately after the price is delivered to NoStress Commerce banking account. Then the product is provided in customer’s section My downloadable products.

• Download the product from NoStress Commerce pages in customer’s section Moje stahovatelné produkty and save it to your hard drive.
• Then navigate to NoStress Connect with your internet browser. For example: www.nostress-obchod.cz/nostressconnect/index.php.
• Log in. User’s name and password are the same as for back-end in Magento and it must be full right account (Magento Administrator).
• Installation of new products is proceeded in Products overview.
• Addition of new product is made by click on Add product button. Then space for loading the product on server appears.
• Choose the product to be sent on server by click on Browse button.
• After choosing the product, click Send. File will be sent to server followed by appearance in the table of products available.
• Click Detail link in line of the chart to install. Detail of product including button Install appears – click it to install. You are redirected to install progress window.
• Installation succeeded if you see install Ok: PRODUCT NAME in the window
